Bradford Cactus and Succulent Show was held at Woodbank Garden Centre on Saturday 8th June 2024. The show attracted exhibitors from 4 different branches of the British Cactus and Succulent Society.
Best Cactus was won by this flowering Aztekium, exhibited by David Quail.
Best Succulent was won by this Hawothia maughanii, also exhibited by David Quail!
The award for Most Points In Show went to Gareth Darbon, who exhibited an impressive selection of plants. This group of 6 cacti won an Award of Merit.
Bradford members Louise and Paul, who only started entering shows last year, also won trophies, for Best Aloe and Best Crassulaceae respectively.
The Unusual Container class was decided by a vote this time, with Craig winning with this eyecatching Dudleya on a piece of rock.
As well as over 50 competitive classes, the show also had plant displays. This collection of Echinopsis cactus with huge flowers exhibited by Michael was very popular.
Bradford branch will also be organising the Autumn Cactus and Succulent Show at Harlow Carr this year on Sunday 22nd September 2024.
