Bradford’s cactus and succulent auction is on Wednesday 8th May this year. This is your chance to grab a spiky bargain. Bidding on most plants starts at just £1.
Everyone welcome, no entry fee.
Held at Saltaire Methodist Church, our usual meeting place. View the plants from 7.15pm, and the auction will start shortly after 7.30pm.
Bradford branch have a card reader, so you can pay for your purchases by either card or cash.
Please bring any spare plants you have!
Pots, gardening gadgets, books about plants, etc, are all welcome too.
We typically have a bit of everything for sale. Some will be plants that have been a bit neglected and you might want to buy these to break up into lots of cuttings. Others might pretty much be instant specimen plants.
We’re likely to have a good mix of cactus and succulents, and often a few other plants too, such as bromeliads or houseplants.
It depends what people bring along on the day, so it could be anything!
At a typical auction most plants will go for £5 or less, so there are lots of bargains to be had. There is bound to be some £1 plants, and you might occasionally find yourself bagging a massive beast for the opening bid!
As an example, this Agave neomexicana plant went for the opening bid at 2022’s auction.
The last couple of years have been good for Ferocactus and Echinocactus with some large plants donated:
What will we get in 2024? Who knows! Come along and find out. Every year’s auction is different.
