Volunteering

If you are interested in volunteering at the Autumn Cactus and Succulent Show at Harlow Carr, please get in touch with Tracey: secretary@bradford.bcss.org.uk

Some examples of volunteering roles include:

show stewards

selling plants on the sales table

helping young show visitors and families to pot up their free Aeonium plant

contributing plants to and/or setting up an educational display

giving a short talk or demo

serving refreshments

chatting to visitors

a bit of everything!

The Subtropicana Garden at RHS Harlow Carr

We also need volunteers on the day before the show, Saturday 21st September, from around 4.15pm until 6pm.

Volunteering roles on the Saturday afternoon include setting up the room, helping exhibitors stage plants, serving refreshments or setting up an educational plant display.

You’re also welcome to get involved in the planning of the show, for example coming up with an idea for a display or publicising the event.

Everyone is welcome to volunteer, no need to be a Bradford and Leeds branch member.

We want to make sure that all volunteers get chance to look around the cactus and succulent show and Harlow Carr, so you won’t be expected to give up a whole day.  Volunteer for an hour or 2, or half a day, and have plenty of time to enjoy the show and the garden too.
